'We are already into pipe extrusion and the drip-irrigation line attached to the extruder would complete the system,' Rajan noted. Windsor sold about 350 injection moulding machines in 2011, and expects marginal growth in that business in 2012, said the report. 'Interest rates are firming up and people have deferred their investment plans. Besides, continued power scarcity affects buying in the machinery sector,' the official held. What is more, Windsor is positive about 2013. 'We hope to achieve the level of 500 machines in 2013,' he said. Meanwhile, the company is spending about $ 3 million in the first phase of an expansion project. “We have made investments in upgrading our infrastructure, adding capacities and planning to add [some] critical machinery. We have enough space at the present location for further expansion". Windsor is exploring new markets globally, including neighboring Pakistan and nearby Iran.

“We are trying to open [the] Pakistan market, [we’ve] generated a few serious queries, [and] hope to open it soon. We have entered Iran market last year for extrusion business. This year the focus is on extending it into injection molding also,” he said. Rajan also still sees potential for growth in India, noting that the top three machinery suppliers hold about 60 percent of the market there. The remainder is split among European, Japanese and used-machinery sales, the official said and added 'Therefore, there is humungous scope and a big market left to serve".
