Lucknow, July 19 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Thursday announced it will launch a web portal from Aug 1 to provide services like civil supplies, employment registration, and old age pension through information technology.
The portal will be simultaneously launched in all the districts of the state, an official told IANS. Chief Secretary Jawed Usmani Thursday inaugurated the state level training workshop in this regard.
Usmani said: "Shifting of government-to-public interface from offices to web-based portal is an extremely important initiative as it will mitigate the abuse of administrative power by incorporating transparent procedures based on IT."
Services and information related to departments of food & civil supplies, social welfare, panchayati raj, urban development, revenue and women welfare, ration cards, birth certificates could be known through the portal.
