Homegrown pharma major Sun Pharmaceutical Industries today announced that it received USFDA approval for its subsidiary for generic version of Astelin HCL nasal spray, according to a Pharmabiz.com report.

According to the report, this generic azelastine HCL nasal spray 0.1 percent (137 mcg per spray) is therapeutically equivalent to Astelin nasal spray from Medpointe Pharm HCL.
Stating that the Azelastine HCL nasal spray had annual sales of around $ 144 million in the US, the report went on to add that this spray was indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis such as rhinorrhea, sneezing and nasal pruritus and the symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis, such as rhinorrhea, nasal congestion and postnasal drip in adults and children 12 years and older.
