STFC posts 14.16 increase in net income to Rs 3,339.98 crore

Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited, the largest asset financing NBFC in the country has posted a net income for the year ended March 31, 2012 increaseed by 14.16 percent to Rs 3,339.98 crore in comparison with Rs 2,925.75 crore in the year ago period.

The profit after tax stood at Rs 1,308.81 crore as against Rs 1,217.11 crore recorded in the same period earlier year. The earning per share (basic) also stood at  Rs 57.86 as against Rs 53.92 recorded in the same period earlier year, according to a company statement.

During the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 the net income increased by 8.29 percent to Rs 844.34 crore versus Rs 779.71 crore of the same period previous year. The profit after tax stood at Rs 328.78 crore in contrast with Rs 341.72 crore logged in the same period earlier year. the earning per share (basic) also stood at Rs 14.53 as against Rs 15.11 posted in the same period earlier year.

Total Assets under Management as on March 31, 2012 increased by 14.45 percent to Rs 42,137.27 crore as compared to Rs 36,816.77 crore as on March 31, 2011.  The net income for the year ended March 31, 2012 increased by 10.95 percent to Rs 3,226.14 crore as against Rs 2,907.86 crore of the previous year. The profit after tax moved up by 2.24 percent to Rs 1,257.46 crore as against Rs 1,229.88 crore recorded in the earlier year.The earning per share (basic) for the year ended also showed an upward tick of 2.02 percent to Rs 55.59 from Rs 54.49 recorded in the earlier year.

The net income for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 increased by 5.35 percent to Rs 805.60 crore as against Rs 764.68 crore of the same period previous year. The profit after tax stands at Rs. 308.07 crore as against Rs 340.62 crore recorded in the same period earlier year. The earning per share (basic) also stood at Rs 13.62 as against Rs 15.06 recorded in the same period earlier year.


Total Assets under Management as on March 31, 2012 increased by 11.14 percent to Rs 40,213.90 crore as compared to Rs 36,182.63 crore as on March 31, 2011.
