Larsen & Toubro today inaugurated India’s first rail construction training centre near Chennai, BL reported. The centre in Kanchipuram, 75 kilometers west of Chennai is aimed at augmenting the competency of construction workforce involved in rail construction jobs, noted the report. What is more, it will also develop a talent pool of skilled workmen capable of delivering global standards in rail construction.
AP Mishra, Member, Engineering, Railway Board, formally inaugurated the facility. The training centre can impart onsite training to nearly 300 technicians and 180 middle level managers and engineers in a year, added the report.
