A notable water heater manufacturer A.O. Smith plans to launch a new water heater fired by gas in the Indian market by September, according to BL report.
Vice-President and Market Development of A.O. Smith “David Warren” said that initially they import the product from our manufacturing facility in China. When the market for this product picks up in India, we will start making them at our Bangalore facility.
The company is expanding the capacity of its Bangalore facility from the current four lakh units a year to 12 lakh units with an investment of $ 20 million. “The expansion is expected to be completed by 2013,’’ he told media persons here today.
After the expansion, the company will be looking at exporting some of the products made here to neighbouring markets such as West Asia, Singapore and Vietnam, added the report
